What Ben Janusch Plays...

Callaway GolfBig Bertha Ti 454 Driver

9*, Graphite Design YS-6 graphite shaft, S flex, 45".

My Rating:  4

Review: I thought this driver was awesome until I hit the Nike 5900. Sold it pretty quick after that.

Callaway GolfFT-9 Driver

Owned both a 9* and a 9* Draw, I-Mix

Cleveland GolfLauncher 2009 Driver

10.5*, UST Proforce V2 66g .350 graphite shaft, R flex, Lamkin Tour Black Full Cord .580 ribbed grip, 45.5".

My Rating:  4

Review: I picked this up for a very small amount from 3balls on eBay. It did everything I wanted my next driver to do. I replaced the stock shaft with a Proforce V2 65 R. The stock shaft is a little light and whippy for my taste.

Mizuno GolfMX 700 Driver

10.5*, Exsar DS4 55g .335 graphite shaft, R flex, stock grip, 45.5"

NikeSQ Sumo2 5900 Driver

11.5*, stock Nike SQ Diamana graphite shaft, R flex, stock Nike SQ rubber grip.

My Rating:  5

Review: Excellent driver, nice straight flight. Spins a little too much for me, but not so much to balloon. I liked the noise when I first bought it, but lately it's been annoying me. I'm ready to move on and I have the Mizuno MX-700 and the new Cleveland Launcher at the top of my list. I've also owned this in 9.5* with this stock stiff shaft and 9.5* with the Aldila VS Proto 65-R shaft (loved that shaft, wish I could have found a 11.5* with it).

Adams GolfIdea a3 Boxer 3 Wood

15*, stock Aldila NVS graphite shaft, R flex, stock Adams rubber grip.

My Rating:  4

Review: I liked everything about this club except the fact that I couldn't really get it up in the air off the ground. It's a constant issue with me and 3 woods that I fight to this day. Sold to move on to the A4OS 3 wood.

Adams GolfIdea a3 Boxer 3 Wood

13*, stock DVS shaft, R flex

Adams GolfInsight Tech A4OS 3 Wood

16*, stock Graphite Design TourAD graphite shaft, R flex, stock Adams rubber grip.

My Rating:  3

Review: I had been playing a 15* Adams A3 and I bought this after adding the A4OS 5w. The extra loft helps me get the ball off the deck easier. However, I may switch away from the hybrid like 3 woods and try a real 3 wood. The 5w is what I use in most situations from the fairway right now.

Tour EdgeExotics XCG-V 4 Wood

16.5*, stock Exotics Graphite Design shaft, S flex

My Rating:  3

Review: I'd love to give this a higher rating, because it seemed like a great club, but it fell apart. Every time I hit the club I got a new divot in the sole or face. The head eventually broke off the shaft. I'm hoping it was just a lemon.

TaylorMadeR9 4 Wood

17*, stock Fujikura Motore 70g graphite shaft, R flex, stock TaylorMade grip, 42.5".

My Rating:  4

Review: A recent session at Golfsmith led me to buy this. I had gone to look at the Launcher and MX-700 fairways. I came away liking the R9 the best. That said, I'm having a hard time getting the ball up off the deck with it.

Adams GolfInsight Tech A4OS 5 Wood

19*, stock Graphite Design TourAD graphite shaft, R flex, stock Adams rubber grip.

My Rating:  5

Review: Until this club I had been playing 17* and 20* Nike Sumo2 hybrids. This club bridged the gap between 3w and 4h perfectly and I can hit it tee or fairway. They call this a 5 wood, but it's really a 3 hybrid with a long shaft.

TaylorMadeRescue Dual TP 2 Hybrid

14*, UST Proforce V2 Hybrid graphite shaft, S flex, Golf Pride Tour Wrap midsize grip.

Review: This was one of my stops on my tour of clubs to replace fairway woods that I couldn't hit. Nothing really wrong with the club, but I sliced too much with it and the shaft was too stiff. Sold it.

TaylorMadeRescue Dual TP 2 Hybrid

16*, stock TaylorMade hDiamana graphite shaft, S flex, Golf Pride New Decade Multicompound red & black grip.

Review: This was one of my stops on my tour of clubs to replace fairway woods that I couldn't hit. I had better success with this than the 14* version, but ultimately sold all of my TM hybrids when I found the Nike Sumo2 hybrids.

TaylorMadeRescue Dual 3 Hybrid

19*, stock TaylorMade Hybrid graphite shaft, S flex.

Review: Was a decent all around hybrid. Sold when I found the Nike Sumo2 hybrids.

TaylorMadeRescue Mid 3 Hybrid

19*, Rifle 5.0 steel shaft, Winn PCI Hybrid grip.

Review: The only part of this club I remember liking was the grip. Sold it.

PINGISI K Individual Iron

PW, black dot, 36", JZ cushin stiff

TitleistForged 775.CB Iron Set

4-AW, Rifle Flighted 5.0 steel shafts, Winn DSI black & red grips.

My Rating:  4

Review: These were the first set of "real" irons I ever bought. I had been playing with boxed Wilsons and other generics up to that point. I loved the feel and I loved the progressive stepping through the set. Unfortunately, I really couldn't hit these very high and I moved on to the Nike Sumo & 804.OS to try and fix that.

TitleistForged 804.OS Iron Set

3-PW, Nippon NSPro-970 shafts, R flex, stock Titleist grips.

My Rating:  3

Review: For a while I used the 8-PW of this set with the 5-7 of the Nike Sumo set. They were ok... I liked the feel of the 775.CB set better. Sold them.

NikeSasQuatch Sumo Iron Set

4-AW, stock Nike Speedstep SL steel shafts, stock Nike SQ rubber grips.

Review: Ultra-hacker set. I actually liked the 4 through 6 irons as hybrid-like irons, but the rest of the irons just never felt right. The heads are just too gigantic.

NikeVictory Red Forged Split Cavity Back Iron Set

5-PW, Rifle Flighted 5.0 steel shafts, +.25", upright 2*, Lamkin Tour Black Full Cord .580 ribbed grips.

My Rating:  5

Review: These are some of the most beautiful irons I've ever played. I'm not a player and I have no trouble shooing these high and straight.

Callaway GolfX-18 Iron Set

3-PW, 3* up, Project X 7.0 shafts

Review: I couldn't play these with the 7.0 shafts... they were sold to me as 5.5's. Lesson learned.

Callaway GolfX-20 Iron Set

3-PW, 3* up, Callaway Uniflex steel shafts

Review: I returned these to Callaway after one range session. The Uniflex shafts weren't very good and I paid too much to have the heads reshafted.

Cleveland GolfNiblick Gap Wedge

49*, 35", stock shaft, Golf Pride V-55 BCT .580 ribbed grip

TitleistVokey Chrome 200 Series Gap Wedge

50*, stock everything

50*, stock everything
on

TitleistVokey Spin Milled Oil Can 2009 Gap Wedge

48*, 2* up, Dynamic Gold SL S300 shaft

Cleveland Golf588 RS Lob Wedge

60*, stock everything.

My Rating:  3

Review: Bought on a whim because I read nothing but good things about it. It actually is a decent club, but something about it just doesn't feel right to me.

Scratch GolfJLM Lob Wedge

60*, 14* bounce, SFU grind, True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shaft, 35.25", 65* lie, stock grip.

My Rating:  4

Review: Nice wedge, but I think it has too much bounce for me.

Mizuno GolfMP R Series Black Nickel Lob Wedge

60*, 9* bounce, True Temper Dynamic Gold Sensicore S300 steel shaft, 36", Golf Pride New Decade Multicompound Red .600 round grip.

My Rating:  5

Review: I went with the high bounce because I rarely chip with this club. Turned out the bounce was too high. Still a nice wedge.

Cleveland GolfCG12 DSG Sand Wedge

56*, stock Traction wedge shaft, 35.5".

My Rating:  4

Review: Good sand wedge, but I switched to Mizuno wedges. The V sole just didn't work for me.

PINGEye 2 Sand Wedge

SW, Black Dot, Ping JZ Lite shaft, Golf Pride Tour Wrap Midsize grip.

My Rating:  3

Review: Thought I'd like it as much as the PW... didn't. Way too much offset for a sand or lob wedge.

PINGM/B Sand Wedge

56*, Blue Dot, Ping CS Lite shaft, Ping wrap grip.

My Rating:  5

Review: My second favorite SW ever and my go to club on courses that are more rocky so I don't bang up forged wedges.

Mizuno GolfMP R Series Black Nickel Sand Wedge

54*, True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shaft, 35.5", stock Mizuno M-21 grip.

Review: I never used this wedge even though I owned it for about 6 months.

NikeBlack Oz T130 Putter

Standard loft & lie, 33", stock Nike clear grip.

Review: Nice feel (much better than the 2-ball SRT) and decent distance control, but I struggled to align shots with it. Sold it.

SeeMoreM3 Putter

2.5*, 70* lie, 34", Iomic medium grip (white)

TaylorMadeRossa Monza Corza Putter

Standard

Review: Bought on a whim from the Golfsmith clearance rack... should have left it there. I found it hard to align and it had zero feel for distance.

Odyssey GolfWhite Hot XG 2-Ball SRT Putter

Standard loft & lie, 33", stock Odyssey Winn grip.

Review: I liked the grip and the 2-ball alignment and that was about it. The White Hot XG insert provides zero feel. Sold it.

Odyssey GolfWhite Steel 2-Ball Blade 2 Putter

35", Golf Pride New Decade red grip.

My Rating:  4

Review: I chose the White Steel for the metal insert. I had a White Hot XG 2-ball SRT and I didn't like the feel of the insert. The metal insert gives that click that feels better.

Bridgestone Golfe6 Golf Ball

The early model... 2007?

Review: Hard as a rock and horrible off the putter. It did relieve side-spin off the driver, but the Wilson Staff 50/50 is way, way better.

SrixonZ-Star Golf Ball

Review: A very nice and soft ball, but not a significant difference from the Wilson Staff 50. I do like that they're a little softer off the putter.
